The Journey

The journey started at the end of 2009, during the high school students’ boot camp, after a discussion centered on the history of Rwanda. At that time there was a great desire to fulfill the duty of participation in finding solutions to problems that affect our country people.

Fast forwards, on May 2010, the courage of leadership was evident when an association of young people was created to better define and spearhead what was going to be their contributions in the community development. With small steps by undertaking to do some activities like talking about our own history, helping vulnerable people, showcasing our talents, taking parts in doing public works, socializing etc.; It eventually gave us a secondary level of recognition, sense of competition and success, which birthed new ideas and projects.

Taking another step in January 2013, we create a broader perspective; it came at a heavy cost but it was the only option to make. It was mainly based on the feeling of our inner strength to make positive changes as results of many observations we made and concluded that society needs our inputs and contributions, and that when they are put to use, they greatly benefit the mass.

For a long time, we were called a non-profit organization, until 2021 when reforms were made, we became Community Benefit Company.

It is normal to encounter obstacles in such a journey; it will continue to be a lesson that makes us proud of how far we have come.

HH has a line to fight against Youth Unemployment. We are a thinking hub that helps and trains the youth to be mentally strong today to create a better tomorrow.

Achievement

In fulfilling the goals ingrained in the vision we have undertaken, we have 8 500 youths that we have reached out in a direct manner, and reached out to 42 500 in an indirect manner.
This went through 79 actions included in 17 projects, of which 8 completed projects and 9 left that are ongoing projects. Our operations were carried out in four districts: “Gicumbi, Rusizi, Bugesera and Gasabo.” In order to achieve this, it was mainly supported by the culture of volunteerism which is one of the main values of HH which usually trains youth, coupled with cooperates from various partnerships from government institutions,
community leaders and non-governmental
organizations.
In order to fully support young people and retain them, it is necessary to engage them in all sectors of activity that develop them mentally and emotionally. Number of activities mentioned above, concerns youth in school and out of it. They were done in the following domains:
Mentorship – Education (Positive attitude and Entrepreneurship)
– Talent detection and its promotion – Mobilization (SRH, Drug abuse, etc.) – Environment – ICT – Entertainment – Sport.
We are elevated to continue serving by empowering youth to better fight against unemployment.

Philosophy

Various studies on the functioning of the human brain, show that the mind is built, prepared, expanded or destroyed based on what was intended for. Dealing with the serious problem of Unemployment that we are facing, is the basis of our changing our mindset today. Creating employment in itself is not enough, we should ask ourselves how long would the employment last, furthermore, prioritize the employment that gives opportunities to many individuals.
the world has no shortage of innovators, our ultimate goal is to think of new ideas that helps us to keep up with the constant economic changes. There are untapped opportunities surrounding a • person to help him solve some of their problems, but he lacks the abilities and knowledge to tap in such opportunities that would otherwise help overcome many economic crises. Often success is a choice…. But it comes at a cost.
